Lawns built for once-a-week watering
Pasco County limits lawn irrigation to one day a week year-round, not just during droughts, so grass choice carries more weight here than in most of Tampa Bay. UF/IFAS rates CitraBlue St. Augustine as more drought-tolerant than Floratam and calls Palisades zoysia excellent under drought; both are worth considering when a builder lawn fails. Bahia suits pond banks and large back areas, though mole crickets are its main pest.
Before re-sodding, we check for construction compaction with a rod test and core-aerate where the soil won't take it. Then we fix the sprinkler layout so turf and shrub beds sit on separate zones, as Pasco recommends, and set the controller to your legal day. Our irrigation work covers repairs, rezoning and tune-ups; new systems and permits are handled with a licensed partner where required.
